He led on his bed, eyes shut, the dim light creeping through his eyelids. The purple walls were soft with peace as he listened to Jeff Buckley's Grace. The nearby lampshade lit the one white wall which reflected around the room like a spectrum cast over the soft purple walls, darkened by shadows. He thought of how his death would affect the world if he were to choke on chewing gum right then. If he'd been found listening to a tragic masterpiece with dead ears. But then he worried, he was no one. None of this would affect the world around him, so he stopped the thought as soon as he could and returned his attention to the melodic guitar riff

I fell in love with a pianist's hands. They danced across my skin in minuets, his fingers tripping cadenzas up and down my spine. He brushed sonatas through my hair and across my shoulders, pianissimo. I trembled beneath his trills. The primal, earnest rage of Bach swelled in hot crescendos along my throat, beneath my ribs, guided by his hands --- Mozart, coolly logical, raised goosebumps down my arms --- Chopin soothed the fire and finally calmed my hammering heart. I fell in love with a pianist's hands, listening from the back of the coffee shop while my lungs fought for breath, making wishes until he was gone.

Freshmen don't get to choose their dorm rooms. There are a few that are set aside specifically for freshmen: the small rooms, the ones with awkward angles, the ones farthest from the Dining Hall. But when the entering class is larger than usual, some of the rooms usually reserved for upperclassmen are opened up. If you're lucky, you could get one of the best rooms available. I had a large class. And I got lucky. My room wasn't huge, especially for sharing with a roommate, but it was on the top floor, right by the Bell Tower. Hello again!

I got bored sometime last week and decided to have another go at Blender. It had been a while (about a year or so) but I figured I could remember the basics. I watched a few tutorials to help jog my memory and began modelling. I finally made something worthwhile today: A small, low-poly scene with three owls included.

Where have I been?

I never was in the habit of updating my Deviant Art account often. I don't draw enough to warrant it and I usually forget about it when it comes to writing. Of late, I have been busy with my music project which I have a separate site for and wish for it to remain unrelated to me. I might post a few of my favourite lyrics here and maybe the odd picture but I don't think there will be much content from me for a while, at least. I realise now, as I type this, that there are few who have heard of me and even fewer who care.
